The Austin Independent School District did a poor job on teaching you how to structure a sentence. I don't understand your question.

You probably shouldn't post your address on the internet. Some freak will come knock on your door.

2
It will be Austin Independent School District (AISD). If you scroll to the bottom of this link, there is a number to call and a link to a website which will give you the schools assigned to your address: http://www.austinisd.org/community/new/schools.phtml

Kid, NEVER EVER post your address on the Internet. Wow.

You need a bachelors degree in something before you can apply to law school. You can do that at any 4-year college or university.

2
By far the best Texas law school is UT-Austin.

i've never heard of Southwestern University, so I'm going to go with University of Texas at Austin because I've heard of it before.

2
There's no single accepted measure of "prestige" for universities, so your question can't be answered by a simple choice of one or the other. Also, the two schools are not really comparable. SU is a private liberal arts college with an enrollment of about 1300. UTA is a public research institution enrolling about 50,000 students at all levels through the doctorate. They both have claims to "prestige:" SU is one of the top schools for promoting civic engagement and making a difference in students' lives. UTA has a number of programs which are highly rated in their disciplines, and overall it is a respected institution. By its sheer size, UTA undoubtedly offers more resources and opportunities in science and math. On the other hand, whether a given student will flourish there depends on his/her preparation, abilities, and (esp.) self-discipline. Some students will do better in a smaller setting, with closer interaction with faculty and advisors. So in addition to looking at prestige rankings and resources, be sure to look at the "fit" between the school and the student.

3
UT-Austin..No doubt.

4
UT is a much better school: higher enrollment, more research dollars, prestigious faculty. Not to mention that Austin is a cultural and party mecca. However, if it's science or mathematics you're interested in, take a good look at Texas A&M. In these areas, A&M has no equal in the state. Texas Tech in Lubbock is a close runner-up.

5
Your question is like asking which baseball team is better, the New York Yankees or the Carolina Mudcats (which is a AA team). UT in Austin is a great public university, while Southwestern is a liberal arts school that people outside of Texas have never heard of.

6
UT at Austin is prominently prestigious. I recently applied to do Ph.D. there and am anxiously waiting for a response.

7
UT...no doubt

What are some really nice SMALL farm towns near Austin, Texas...?

What are some really nice SMALL farm towns near Austin, Texas...?
In May I am graduating and definitely want to move out of CA. I am originally from the Midwest and am craving that similar friendly atmosphere again and thing Texas will be great. I heard Austin has a great school for Wildlife Biology, and I am really considering it. I do NOT though want to live in the city, I am more of a small town, farming, land, kinda gal, ...any ideas of any cheap friendly farming towns pretty close to Austin? Thanks very much :)

Check out Bastrop, they have a really nice downtown. Taylor, Smithville and Pflugerville are also nice (though Pville is more of a suburb than a farm town these days). Elgin sucks, imo.

2
Driving west on 290 you come across alot of small kind of country towns. I'm from the woods of East Texas, and Bastrop feels just like home to me, not sure I would call it a "farm town" though. I also think it's pretty cheap to live there. I would not recommend Pflugerville. It is basically Austin's pinky finger. Sure, you're technically in another town, but you're still so close to Austin that the city lights make it too bright to see any stars. And it DEF isn't a country town. All it is is suburbs. Skip it.

Buda! It's small, fun, and basically connected to Austin.

Is there any other old school Thrash Metal Maniacs in Austin Texas?

Is there any other old school Thrash Metal Maniacs in Austin Texas?
I'm 31 years old. Grew up in the 80's with bands such as Whiplash, Hallow's Eve, Carnivore, Artillery, Annihilator, Metallica, Destruction, Anthrax, Vio-lence, Tankard and many more. I work overnights, have kids and Never get out of my house. I need to find some cool Thrash metal Fans to go to some Concerts with. Just seeing if there are many of us Thrash metal fans left? I know there is plenty of Death/Screamo Fans. I like some of that, but mostly into Thrash Metal. I need some Thrash Metal friends. If you live in Austin. Respond here!!!!

You probably want to put this in Music as this is for US travel. You can also try Craigslist.

2
Hi! I think your best bet would be to go to a concert and meet people there. I looked for an austin forum for thrash metal fans, but came up with nil. The 1st poster suggested Craigslist, and I agree. It's a good place to meet people. I think you would have decent luck there. I see ads for people wanting to meet specific types of people there pretty often. Your ad would get more views than Yahoo Answers, too. Good luck! =)

Which law school? Washington University in St. Louis or University of Texas at Austin?

Which law school? Washington University in St. Louis or University of Texas at Austin?
I am deciding between attending the two law schools. If you have and good/bad knowledge/experience with these schools please advise. UT Austin seems more presitigous but a big, maybe not as pleasant public school. WashU seems a bit less prestigious but possibly a nicer experience? Will I have trouble finding a high paying job in Los Angeles with either school?

UT is a big school, but everyone I know that goes there loves it. I personally think that you'll have a better shot getting a job out in LA by going to UT, since its widely recognized as one of the best schools in the country. Plus, living in Austin will get you prepared to living and working in a big, crazy city that has a lot going on. The problem with UT is that the enrollment is very large, so you'd be competing with a lot of students. But, that is something you could use to your advantage when trying to get a job at a big law firm.

2
In general, you want to go to the bigger name school. Of course, even that only matters for getting your first job. And there is an exception to that rule. Consider whether WUSL has a program for a particular specialty you want to study (e.g., maritime law) that UT doesn't have. It would be better to go to a lesser known school that has the courses you want than a better name school that doesn't. All that said, here's the most important thing. There are many, many more people graduating law school every year than there are jobs at law firms. Usually, only about the top 10% of grads will end up working as attorneys. The rest will go into other fields where their degrees are useful but not necessary (e.g., consulting). So, you need to bust your butt in law school to get better grades than 90% of the other students. And while you might have been among the best in your undergrad program, so where all the other law students. So, now you must be among the best of the best. Law school is so competitive that students have been known to go to the library and cut required reading articles out of books just so other students can't get the articles to read for class. Hey, being a lawyer is about doing whatever it takes to win. You better start acting that way now.

Austin, Texas...?

Austin, Texas...?
Tell me about it, please. It doesn't matter if you're a native or transplant. I'm thinking about moving there in the next two years. (Also considering D/FW, Houston, San Antonio, OKC, and Tulsa.) What are the best areas of the city to live in? Where are the higher crime areas? How about the traffic issues? What else is offered in terms of parks, recreation, arts, culture, etc.? I've been to Austin once and fell in love w/ the city. It appears to be very friendly, and the Downtown areas and parks are just gorgeous. 6th St. has a cool vibe to it also, but I'm sure that's more of a tourist-oriented area. A very brief bio: age 22, middle-class, college-educated, want to attend law school in TX or OK, caucasian, conservative, Southern Baptist, friendly, love friendly people, have gay friends yet do not support civil unions or gay marraige, have friends of many non-Christian faiths, hard worker, love warm weather, love a good # of beautiful women :) Thanks in advance! By the way, if it matters, I'm moving from Kentucky.

Norman is nice, and OU has a great law school. Housing is cheaper in Norman (OK) than in texas. I like it here. My daughter is also trying (well thinking about ) to move to Austin, it has a great music scene and is really nice as you know, rent is higher.

im currently attending UT and its been amazing! im completely in love with austin. the people are super nice the social life is amazing theres always something to do. it is warm most of the time which i absolute love. the trafic gets bad sometimes in rush hour cause basically there's only 1 highway to get around that goes through the whole city and its very bad on rush hour but its not that bad. you couldnt go wrong by coming here ud love it! this is a very friendly place if you're attending UT live around West Campus. Thats where mostly all students live and there are a lot of cool places to hang around and its very close to campus. the only drawback is that its kind of expensive. but definetely consider Austin. During the fall it would be awesome if u could attend the Lognhorns football games. everyone in the city gets crazy during the season and everyone watched the games all around the city its amazing!

I would get a set of 1 binder, 1 folder, 1 notebook, and 1 set of index dividers for each regular subject, be sure to have a pair of jazz shoes for the dance class. For the theater class maybe just bring a notebook. Oh, and sometimes on the first day of classes the teacher will be clear on what supplies they want you to have. (Ex: first day of math class they may say you need a 3 inch binder and a graphing calcualtor.) I hope this helps! =)

Which school should I go to? UT austin vs texas a&m vs Texas tech?
I am in top 10% and i cant decide which college is best for me. I plan to pursue a professional degree in pharmacy. i know austin has a good program. in texas tech the first year is free. but my sister says lubbock is depressing compared to austin. texas a&m has way lower gpa requirements. idk why? texas tech and texas a&m has high std affected students. I am hard working but laid back kinda nerd. And i know that austins pharmacy program is very competetive compared to a&m and tech thanks in advanced i meant that freshman year for income below 40,000 is free( red raider guarantee)

Go with UT or Texas A&M. TAMU (as much as I hate to admit it being a Baylor grad and hard core Baylor fan) is a good school, so don't worry too much about their lower GPA requirements too much. Tech is just... bleh. I imagine they probably have a REASON (*ahem*) for offering a free first year. College Station would at least put you near within decent range of several good cities (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas-Ft. Worth). My strongest recommendation is for UT, especially since you are in the top 10%.

2
You are very confused when it comes to knowing these schools... so is the first answerer. Texas Tech and Texas A&M have completely average STD rates. That is an absolute rumor. All 3 schools are great, apply to all 3 and then make a choice. I don't think you would get a free year of pharmacy school at Tech unless top 10% gets a scholarship or something... Alright I see the Red Raider guarantee. I'm not going to say which school to go to because all 3 are great schools, but don't let misinformed people like the one above tell you thinks like Tech is "Blehhh" and has a high STD rate and a bunch of other crap because it is a great university that is rising in reputation rapidly. Good luck in your search.

university of texas at austin!!!?

university of texas at austin!!!?
i'm currently a senior in a Texas high school, it's pretty competitive. my rank SUCKS. i've been an A/B student throughout high school (mostly due to the extremist of extreme laziness) with the exception being sophomore year because of some personal issues. i'm top 26% right now (137/523) and i'll try to send my transcript in again after this semester because my rank should be around 20% then but i'm not sure if UT will look at it because it will be a week or two after the deadline. but i have a good SAT score. i'm applying to their school of architecture even though it's really unlikely that i'll get in. stats - rank: 137/523 26% SAT: 2210 combined (M 720 CR 720 W 720) all AP/Honors classes through high school academic challenge 4 years (co-captain past 2 years) debate 9th/10th (won some awards) octathlon 9th (highest scoring member) newspaper 10th/11th (editor-in-chief 11th grade) a lot of work experience volunteer to teach religious education classes every saturday south asian female skilled artist in both traditional art and computer graphics pretty good writer decathlon team and AP studio art (12th) ap scores: US History 5 English Language 4 so my essays should be pretty good (one has to be about architecture) in all honesty, i just don't want to get capped. i will go to UTSA if i do, because i'm only applying to UT. i'm not sure if i'll even get into UT Austin School of Architecture let alone UT Austin. shed some light, please

Austin is a GREAT up and coming city. It is metropolitan, but not as large as a large metro area like NY or LA

There are definitely some school options here. I am not sure what you are looking for to start over so it is tough to answer that. I love this city and have done a lot of things to stay here. I don't know too many people who have regretted coming here or don't wish they could come back You can look for an apartment here http://everythingaustinapartments.com/ Probably best to look for a roommate on Craigslist.

What are my chances of getting into the University of Texas at Austin?
I currently attend a large state school outside of texas (I'm a texas resident though). I would like to get back to the awesome city of Austin ( My home) and get a degree from a more prestigious school. Right now my GPA is a 3.83, however I think that by next summer it could go down (engineering courses). What are my chances of getting admitted into the liberal arts school. And also what is the minimum GPA for getting in as a transfer?

Which Texas Liberal Arts school is better; University of Texas at Austin, or Texas State San Marcos?
I got accepted to to Texas State San Marcos, but in UTA I got accepted but I have to wait a year, and go to a different UT system school and then automatically transfer to UTA in 2010, but the only thing is I'd be an "undeclared" major when I want to go to a specific degree of liberal arts, but Texas State more than likely will offer me the program in liberal Arts. But I don't know which school is better well known for they're excellence. Please help, advice would be wonderful! Thank you!

UT is way better than Texas State. Its better to be at UT undeclared than another school with a major that most likely will change several times.

Which is a better school - University of Texas@ Austin or SMU?

Which is a better school - University of Texas@ Austin or SMU?
I'm an undergraduate student. I haven't completely decided on a major/career path but I am in between business and pre-medicine. I would major in Nutrition (only offered at UT) or Biology...or get a BBA. I know UT is higher ranked in business than SMU, but does that necessarily mean that UT grads get better job offers than SMU grads? UT is stronger in the sciences, so Iwould be a more competitive med school applicant if i stay at SMU..since my gpa would be higher? With scholarships, I would have to pay $13 k/year for SMU and $6k/year for UT. The lower tuition of UT seems very attractive. Also, I already spent one year at SMU. I enjoyed it but often felt like it wasn't big/diverse/fun enough for me. UT seems to offer more in the social aspect, but I am scared that I'll get lost in the crowd, especially as a transfer student. Please help!

Hook em' Horns! With being such a popular school, you're looking at some powerful alumni which could help you out in the future. Social scene is perfect...just lil' bit for every type of person. All around i believe it to be a great experience.

2
Both great schools. My sister attended UT for one year then transferred to SMU for the last two. She got two degrees in three years then was accepted to Northwestern Law School. I think it depends on your personality type. I would transfer to UT just because I love the atmosphere in Austin. Plus its just about the best value for education in the nation. And they have a med school.

3
Go longhorns! UT Austin is an excellent public university. Tuition is relatively low especially considering it offers tons of resources. Additionally, it seems like you aren't very satisfied w/ SMU. While I'm not saying it you will like it any better, UT offers a very different atmosphere. There's definitely a party scene, if you're interested in that type of stuff. Football is BIG in this campus. Get ready to spend weekends at the stadium where the majority of students will be cheering their peers on. If you don't like this type of life, then UT might not be for you. HOWEVER, UT is also an excellent academic school, besides its social life. They're pretty strong in just about every department-- some more than others though. Also, if your worried that you will get lost at UT - DON'T BE!!!! Most folks here are friendly and willing to help out.If you want the basic overview of each university, here it is: UT Austin -Public university in Austin, Texas -Cheap tuition for the resources you have -Vibrant and active social scene -VERY large w/ undergrad enrollment almost 40,000 -Offers a wide variety of majors w/ solid standards -Not religiously affiliated SMU -Private university near Dallas, Texas -Expensive because it is private -Much smaller undergrad enrollment than UT -Solid business school but lacks in the sciences department -Social scene might not be as encouraged as in UT---however, because its close to Dallas, you'll at least have night clubs to go to. Hope this helps you out!!!
