Which Big Texas City Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio is the cheapest but nicest city to live as bartender?

Which Big Texas City Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio is the cheapest but nicest city to live as bartender?
I am single and looking for a fresh start, I am interested in Texas...I like Austin but heard that it's more expensive, but what if you move just a little bit outside of town. I am planning on going to a bartending school in texas, getting a job and living there...so any help would be great.

if you live downtown it can be expensive, but it is cheaper than downtowns in other areas. i can personally tell you that it is cheaper here than in dallas, and i have never heard anyone else say it was more expensive here than elsewhere in texas

San Antonio is cheap to live in and because it's a tourist town Bartending is a great way to make money. Austin and Dallas can be pricey to live in and Houston just plain sucks...I've lived in all four so I have expereince in each. To clarify, Austin is not expensive compare to New York and Los Angeles, but it is one of the most expensive cities in Austin, property wise and since the question was what Texas city was cheapest, Austin would not be the answer.

I don't think Austin is expensive at all. I guess it is all relative. Compared to anywhere in New York, California, or Florida, living in Austin is dirt cheap. http://www.centralproperties.com

San Antonio is far cheaper than the bigger towns and more affordable when you can buy a house. You can always drive to Austin for the music and film festivals.
